Week 40: OOHHHH... IM HALF WAY THERE... OOOOHHHHH... LIVIN ON A PRAYER... hehe

YEAH, it’s official. I’VE HIT NINE MONTHS!!!! It’s crazy to think that I’m already half way done with the mission. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been here forever and at others it feels like I just got here. But heavenly father has blessed me in this time of the mission to be with my best friends, my companion and HNA Siufanua. I’m just loving my time here.

So... it was a pretty normal week here. Again. Sorry, it’s just not as exciting here. I’m still living in the house with the other Sisters.. Oh and Richard, btw, your apartment that you live in with the other Elders is wayy bigger than the house we are living in. Yeah, you’re pretty much spoiled up there.

So something that happened this week that was not fun at all is we were getting ready to teach our golden investigator when all of a sudden we hear this awful heart breaking sound of a suffering animal. Emilio, the kid we are teaching, gets up and looks down the street and two houses down, there is a dog basically dying bc another dog has a death grip on his throat and the dog was just wailing and wailing. It was soo horrible sounding and something that I never want to ever experience ever again. But that’s just how it is in Mexico. The dogs here run free in the streets. it’s really sad and heart breaking and I’m glad that Sam’s not here to see the dogs here. He would probably cry.

Well, on that lovely sad little note, something SUPER exciting is EMILIO IS GETTING BAPTIZED!!!!!!! I’m super stoked. It’s going to be super special bc his uncle is coming home from the mission on Weds, and is going to baptize him. Literally this kid is amazing. He’s 14 yrs old and loves everything about the gospel and has been going out with us on visits and is amazing in the lessons. He’s practically a missionary, haha. But we are trying to get his "step dad" (I say it that way bc Emilio’s mom and him aren’t married) baptized on the same day bc he’s ready too, and that’s what we are going to do tonight is talk with him and get things figured out. But yeah, I can’t wait to send pics of the baptism next week.

Welp, that’s about it for this week. I hope you all are doing well and know that I love and miss you. From here on out, it’s just a downhill go, so the time should fly by fast.

love ya!!
