Week 37: A happy first week in (Sagrada...hehe) Arboleda 3

HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!! I had to put that first to let you know how important you are to me :) I can’t begin to believe that you are old enough to go to dances. It’s killing me. I can’t wait to come home and chaperone one of your dances, haha.

Well, it was a pretty good week that we had.

First things first, MY AREA IS SOOO TINY!!! Literally, I am so used to working in a small town, but where our appointments are usually spread out in every which direction and we are always having to speed walk/run to the next appt, but here, literally we can walk the distance of our whole area in like 10 mins and that’s regular speed walk. It’s pretty weird for me to be able to do it, but I’m adjusting to it. And that here there are a lot more cars and the ppl don’t just sit outside of their houses during the day and night. It made contacting a lot easier in Izamal but here no one is outside of their houses.

But yeah, we have been beyond blessed with miracles this week.

1. We totally found 2 gold investigators this week through our own efforts. Their names are Jose Castro and the other Marlene. They aren’t family or anything like that. But in the first lessons that we had with them we taught how families can be together forever and its possible through baptism and not even kidding you they both basically asked us what they need to do to get baptized and how long the preparation is. Yeah, it’s the first time that’s ever happened to me, to have someone actually ask us what they can to do be baptized, it was a pretty amazing experience.

2. WE ARE GOING TO THE TEMPLE TOMORROW AT 4 AM!!!!!!!!! Literally I am soo pumped to go. the conditions to go is we have to bring a less active or a recent convert to the temple that have family names to take, so we found a less active that is starting to come back to church and miraculously (I have no idea how to spell that word...) she’s been doing her family history work on her own and has a lot of names to take to the temple and we asked if she would like to come with us at 4 in the morning tomorrow and she said it was perfect. Honestly, I have no idea how it worked out so perfectly, but hey, that’s how heavenly father works. He knew we really wanted to go to the temple and even though we don’t know ANYONE here in the area, we somehow found this less active that has been doing her family history work. So yeah, WE ARE SUPER PUMPED TO NOT SLEEP TONIGHT AND GO TO THE TEMPLE TOMORROW!!!!

And yeah, that was my week this week.

Today we totally went to Walmart and that was super fun. It was soo good. It was like walking into America when we walked into Walmart. Felt puurrty good, not going to lie.

We are still living with the other sisters in the other area below us so we are having a lot of fun with that. And we constantly are taking pics and messing around. It’s been a long time since I’ve had this much fun, and I’m really enjoying it.

Well, when I write you all next Monday I won’t be a little teenager anymore!! bc I’m turning 20 and will finally be a big girl, haha

Oh, we just found out today that we aren’t allowed to play any type of sport here in the mission. Soccer, volleyball, anything. Even with other missionaries or with the ward. It’s bc we had an elder die here from a heart attack while he was playing soccer with his ward for an activity. I knew him. He was in my zone my first 2 transfers. He was pretty funny and had a cool elephant tie. But yeah, it pretty much stinks now that we can’t do that anymore, but hey, I guess that just means sleep time on pday, haha

And yeah. that’s about it, pics are coming soon!!
I love you all and have a wonderful week!!!!

Week 36: YOULL NEVER GUESS WHATS HAPPENED!!!!!!

OKAY LITERALLY IVE BEEN DYING TO EMAIL YOU GUYS TODAY TO TELL YOU THE NEWS OF TRANSFERS!!!!!!
Y’all ready........
(drum roll please.... hehe)
1. I got transferred out of Izamal
2. I’m opening an area called Arboledas 3
3. BEST PART EVER... my companion is.... HERMANA FROST!!!! My same companion from the MTC!!!
4. and I’m in the same district with Hna. Siafanua. She’s the other Hermana from my district from the MTC. She’s Samoa.

Okay literally, I was dying last night. I was sooo nervous before the transfer call. We thought that Hermanas were going to come and open the other part of Izamal and that I was going to go to one area and train a Sister and my companion was going to be in the other part of Izamal but no. We got the call last night at around 11 at night and my district leader tells me:

"Well Hermana Perryman, you’re leaving Izamal and going to open another area, and your new companion is Hna. Frost." At first I thought he was kidding bc he knows us both bc we’ve been in the same district for 4 months now and he knew that we were companions in the MTC so I thought he was joking around with me.

So I say: "Hey, you cant say that. That’s mean to play around with me. Who really is my companion?"

And he was like, “No, for realz, you get to work with Hna Frost.”

And yeah, after that I don’t know what he said bc I was screaming and laughing. Honestly, I have never been happier than I am right now. I thought that I was going to miss Izamal like A LOT and I do, but not so much that I can’t think about anything else.

Last night when I was packing I couldn't wait for the morning to come to meet Hna Frost in Mérida and go to our new area.

And yeah, that's what happened last night and today we have had so much fun together. literally, we cannot wait to start working. we have so much plans and our area is sooo small. and we basically plan on baptizing every single person, haha, but yeah, I'm literally bursting with joy every time I think about working along side her.
and we get to be together to celebrate my bday so I'm super pumped for that.
we still don't have a house though in our area but should have one by next week, so we are staying in the house with Hna Siafanua and her companion. which is going to be a freaking blast. party every night, haha, not really, but yeah, basically its going to be like that.
bc we had a little extra free time here in Centro in Mérida (bc our area is super close to centro like only 20 mins and that's with a lot of traffic) we decided to go eat at subway (which was heaven in my mouth. it was soo good I was drooling, haha) and we went to an architecture museum here in Mérida. it was kind of boring, but hey, I'm not complaining bc it was actually really nice to go do something normal.

So yeah, that pretty much updates you all on what happened in the last 24 hrs.

Pics coming soon!!!

Your wonderful package mom!

My last Sunday in Izamal. The girl is Hna Mimi. She leaves for her mission in Costa Rica tomorrow!

This is my Mission Leader in Izamal. and his wife. They just got married, but she's not a member, but is an investigator right now. Literally she's so wonderful and the cutest thing ever. I really love her a lot and pray she gets baptized soon so they can be sealed in the temple.

Selfie with my coolest companion ever!

Opening Aunt Linda's package which was perfect!! I love the shirt. It's absolutely perfect for here in Merida.

SUBWAYY!!

Week 35: ahh... Only one week left!

Welp, it’s come to that point again. We only have one more week in the transfer. Where the time has gone, I have no idea. But I’m soo nervous for this transfer. More than any of my other transfers.

We are getting the new house ready for the new companionship that will be coming to Izamal next Monday. We still don’t know if Sisters are going to come or Elders. Honestly, I don’t know which would be better. There are pro and cons to both. If we get Elders, the chance of me leaving is a lot higher. But if we get Sisters the chance of me staying is a lot better. bc what normally happens is we could get Sisters and what they will end up doing is separating myself and Hermana Gutierrez so that we are both here to help out bc we already know the area. pero, quien sabe?

Honestly, I’m hoping to train. We should be getting a bunch of new mishies this transfer to we will be in need to trainers, and I’m hoping President calls me as one.

This week as been full of family history. Literally, that’s all we are focusing on. What our President told us to do is to teach family history and temples in the first visit and that we are to contact literally every living person and share the My Family pamphlet with them. So yeah, we’ve been doing that. And it’s been interesting, but very powerful. Literally I love that we are focusing in family history work, and I feel like this renewed effort to do so is changing the world, not just Izamal. I can’t wait to get home and start to work with dad’s side of the family.

I don’t know. I’m not really doing a good job at putting my feelings into words, so I hope you can understand what I’m trying to say there. Basically, KEEP DOING FAMILY HISTORY! Haha

Well, that’s it for this week. I’ll send pics in a sec.

Love you all!!!!!

Hermana Perryman

This was taken at a youth activity we had this past week. It was super fun!

We made some Rice Crispy treats... but with Fruit Loops. Hey, don't judge, they were actually really good.

Our last zone pic. Stinks that its blurry, but eh, oh well.

Week 34: sssslllllllllloooooooooooowwwwwwwwww week.

It was such a slow week for me. I don’t know why, but for some reason it took forever to end. Not that I’m looking forward to the days ending, just that it seems like last month was when I last wrote you. haha I didn’t even realize it, but literally it was last month. haha I crack myself up.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Eve and partied hard haha. What I did was work. Up until 8 and then we went to a couple of members houses that invited us over to have dinner with them. It was pretty fun, and I’ll be sending pics pretty soon.

Something happened this week that helped me realize a lot of things as to why I’m here. It really did change my perspective completely. Though I’m not ready to give details, know that I’m okay and that I’m learning and growing with what Heavenly Father has given me here.

BIG NEWS!!! MY AREA IS FINALLY BEING DIVIDED!!!! It’s wayy to big with too much work just for 2 missionaries. So President finally decided to divided it, but we don’t know when the other mishies will be coming. We still have 2 weeks left in this transfer and we still have to look for a house that’s on the other side of town and that’s by members. The only problem is that half of the ward are our neighbors so well have to see how it goes.

And yeah, that’s about it. Pics coming soon.

Oh, something that happened today is in our mtg we got a new rule from Presidente saying that we don’t have our language study time anymore. That’s my time that I use to better my Spanish. So now we have to wake up at 5 instead of 6 so that we can have our full studies. It’s going to be pretty hard to get used to, so I’ll let you know next week how it goes.

Love you all and thanks for all you do for me!!

Hermana Perryman

Yeah, he's my boyfriend, No big deal. I appropriately named him Einstein. haha. It was a pretty short relationship. it was nice while it lasted up to the point that he was beaten to death haha

Selfie! I was messing around the first night that I bought my camera.

Isn't she like the cutest little thing you've ever seen??

That was the piñada that a member bought for New Years Eve. Everyone buys one and they buy candy to put into it and then during the night before midnight they break it open.
