Okay guys, I had transfers today. And of course that means running around, stress, a sleepless night, and tears, and chocolate. Yeah. So I got transferred :( I’m super sad about it bc I really, really love the ward I was in. There are the best members and my best converts, every single one of them are amazing. And not only them. But living with my other best friends. Living with other Sister Missionaries can be a disaster, but the Lord knew that with Hna. Frost, Hna. Siufanua, and Hna. Pinguelo it would be a perfect match for us all. Really, I cannot explain to you how close the 4 of us have grown over these past 3 months. Sounds like a short time, and it was looking back on it, but they have been the best 3 months of my mission. With them, we formed a friendship that is definitly lasting after the mission. I wish you all could get to know them and just how amazing they are to me. Even though we aren’t together anymore, we will still see each other in mission mtgs, so that’s a good thing, and most of all, I’m just happy for all of the memories I have been blessed with.
so yeah, so explain what happened with transfers. So we got them last night at like 8. They closed the other area and they rejoined Arboleda again. So it’s bigger so that’s going to be better and means more work. Hermana Frost stayed there and her companion is from Bolivia who has the same time as us. I got transferred to an area called ITZAES. It’s a little hard to pronounce, even I have a hard time with it. But it’s a smaller area. A lot bigger than what I just had in Arboleda 3, but smaller compared to a lot of the areas herein the mission. I’m still here in Merida. I actually stayed in the same stake, I just moved zones in the mission. So the cool thing is at stake conference which we should be having in a couple of weeks, I will see all the members from Arboleda!!! Yay! So I didn’t even go very far. I’m not very sure, but in bus it’s like maybe 15 mins away from my old area.
So since I got transferred, that means new companion! Her name is Hermana Argueta (are-get-uh) that’s how you pronounce her name for all you non Mexicans. haha She’s from Guatemala which is pretty sweet. She’s a short little fire ball basically. She’s got great energy and is a little crazy, but in a good way. She loves anything American, which is really funny. She says she doesn’t know how but she’s going to marry an American and go live in Utah and study at BYU. So yeah, she has a huge desire to learn English, and she told me for that exact reason I was sent to her. She already knows quite a lot, but she wants to learn more and perfect it. Just from being with her for a couple of hrs we get along pretty great and I’m excited for this transfer. Most likely I’m going to stay here again for another transfer and kill her bc she goes home in 2 more transfers. Plus she’s going to help me better my Spanish!! So yeah, that’s the news on changes.
Let’s see....
Oh yeah!!! We had a conference with Elder Bednar this week! It was soo amazing! A great spiritual experience. I learned a lot about the way I listen to the Spirit and being in tune with it and how to take good notes, and not just write down what the speaker is saying. Basically what we did was a discussion with him with question and answers. I didn’t ask one, but the ones that were asked were really good. And he didn’t planch us THAT much, there were some times when he did and it was pretty powerful. It was a really amazing experience we had as a mission. I’ll send the photo of us all with him.
Other than that this week really wasn’t all that eventful. I’m running late bc I actually wrote a lot but I’ll send a couple of pics.
Love you all and thanks for all of your support and love you send me. You mean the most to me!!!

Week 53: A better week.
Yeah, so this week was a lot better. Well at least number wise. Last week we had like a 20 lesson week but this week Hermana Frost and I decided to push really hard and we hit a 45 lesson week this week. Which is what we should be doing every week, but on a normal week we get like 38 lessons.
The sad part is that we didn’t have any one of our investigators in church yesterday. That was the hard part about it. But we’ve visited them all yesterday and we talked with them and they all had good excuses (like always right?) but we plan on really pushing them to get them to church on Sunday.
So this week is going to be one to look forward to. For one, IT’S THE LAST WEEK IN TRANSFERS!!!!!!!! AHHH. Yeah, who can believe that it’s gone that fast? Frosty and I are pretty bummed out about it. If we get changed, it’s going to be a really hard transition to another companion. We just love each other that much and we just get each other and teach really well together. President knows just how well we work together, so we will see what inspiration he receives for these next months.
But as much as we would love to stay together, we both haven’t trained yet. And we only have 6 months left. So we are both kind of wanting to experience what training is like. But the thing is, I don’t know if that will actually happen bc we are only getting 8 new missionaries in the mission this upcoming transfer. And of those 8 only like 4 are going to be sisters. Then president wrote me today and he told me that the area would be made bigger so it actually sounds like its official that we are going to close the area. So sad, but at the same time, it’s going to be nice to have a bigger area again. I like those a lot better. So if I do stay and have the opportunity to get to know the rest of the ward, I’m pretty excited for that and it would be super fun to do it with Hermana Frost. But at the same time is going to be SUPER DUPER WEIRD going back to living just 2 to a house. Even though it’s a little hard to live in such a small house with 4 SISTER missionaries, it’s also an amazing experience. And I’m going to miss it a lot. It’s going to be really, really quite around here next transfer. But if I do get transferred out of here, I’m praying soo hard that I get out of Mérida. I’m DYING to not work here in the city. I want to go back to a pueblo, which is just a super small humble town. So that’s what I’m hoping for if I get transferred. It’s been a good experience here because I’ve learned that I’m definitly not someone that can live in the city for very long. I’ve only been here for 4.5 months and I’m ready to get out. AND IM NOT EVEN IN THE CITY, CITY PART. I’m on the south side, kind of like on the outskirts. Just too many ppl, bleh. And cars. Too many of those. I would like to go back to seeing more horses in the streets than cars. So next week’s email I’ll reveal what transfers brought. AHHH!!! WHOS EXCITED??!!!!!
The next interesting thing is ELDER DAVID A. BEDNAR COMES ON FRIDAY!!!! Who’s ready for a good planching??!!! I know I am... well maybe just a little. haha Naw we are all pretty excited for him to come and see what he has ready for this mission. We have 3 talks that we received from the mission that E. Bednar asked all the missionaries to read in preparation for his coming. I’ll send y’all the copies of them. They are pretty powerful, y’all would enjoy them.
And so being a Sister Missionary and a girl, Hermana Frost and I all of a sudden realized that we have like no good clothes to wear to the conference so we were like what are we going to do? We didn’t want to go shopping for new stuff. Then I had a brilliant idea when a young woman from our ward came out with us this past week. She wore this beautiful yellow dress with white poka dots and I told her I loved it and she said that her mom made it. Well her mom sews super well and I talked to her yesterday and she said that she would be happy to sew Hermana Frost and I dresses for Friday. So right after we finish writing, we are going to go buy the fabric and drop it off at her house. We are super excited to have a new dress and Hermana Ana is super cool for doing this for us!!! I’ll send pics next week!
So yesterday we had a ward activity of a movie watching and we watched MEET THE MORMONS! Legit right? There is a Sister in our zone from the states that had her parents send her the DVD of it and so it’s been going around the zone and basically the whole zone has been having ward movie nights with it. But it was really fun and I think one of the coolest things is watching movies in Spanish. I don’t know why, but I just love it. and I think y’all saw it in the theaters and it features the mom that boxes really well from Costa Rica obviously speaks Spanish and that’s my favorite part bc when you watch it in Spanish, they don’t have to voice translate it so you can hear their actual voices. But yeah, that’s the coolest part. But we decided to buy popcorn kernels and make popcorn for the activity. But a lot more ppl showed up than what we were expecting, so we had to start the movie and just get the popcorn to the ppl as it was being made. Basically we were on a backorder of popcorn and to me it was a lot of fun bc it reminded me soo much of being back at the theater and having those stressful, but fun popcorn rushes. Made me miss my theater gang, haha
So yeah, that’s basically all that happened this week. And don’t be mad but I just didn’t take any pics this week. I just forgot, I know that’s super bad of me, so sorry mom!!!! But I’ll send a couple that Frosty took so y’all can have some.
Love you all soo much and I’ll write next week! Stay safe and keep serving the Lord with all your heart, might, mind and strength.

Week 52: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
Hey, just wanted to wish you mom again a Happy Mother’s Day!!
Yesterday was really amazing getting to talk to you all and finally being able to see Kate and how well she is doing and I was sooo happy to finally see Aidan and meet William. THEY ARE TOO DARN CUTE!!!! You wouldn’t even believe how much I just wanted to reach through that computer screen and just pick them up and give them hugs and kisses and to play with Aidan. He seems like he’s a handful with all that running around, but I just cannot get over his laugh!!!!!!! It was soo cute!! You can ask Hna. Frost. Yesterday night I just couldn’t stop talking about them to her. I bet she was tired of me going on and on about them. So Kate, just a heads up, when I get home, you probably won’t see your kids for like a week bc I’m most likely going to steal them for a bit haha.
This week wasn’t really anything special. If y’all don’t know yet, my area here, Arboleda 3, is super, super tiny. And I don’t know why but this week was just so hard to work in it. I’ve just been feeling pretty burnt out. In Izamal, there were always new areas that we were getting to know bc it was soo big that there was just no way that I knew every little street and bc of that it was easier to find new people. But here we have literally been walking the same streets over and over and over again. And after 4 months of seeing the same people and same houses, I guess it just got to me. I mean I love it here in Mérida, but to be honest I think I like working outside of the city better. The people just feel more welcoming. But even though it was a rough week, Hna. Frost and I had a talk about what we need to be doing better and we’ve made goals and are looking forward to a better week.
We had interviews with Pres. this past Saturday and I guess it was good. I talked to y’all what he said to me about sending the endorsements from BYU to him but other than that he didn’t really say anything else. It only lasted like at tops 15 mins. We just talked about the area, the investigators, and the logros [achievements] and didn’t say it exactly, but he said that he will look into making our area bigger. So what I’m thinking and what everyone is thinking is that most likely the area will be closed and will just go back to being Arboleda 2. But that won’t happen for another 2 weeks. We are in week 5 right now of the transfer. So who knows what will happen come transfer time. Oh he also asked me how I was getting along with Frosty and I told him perfectly. And he told me that he can see that. That he’s seen a difference in the two of us in our time together. That we’ve grown close and that we are basically sisters. He seemed pretty pleased with Hermana Frost and I, so I don’t know if we will end up staying together again or what, but I guess I’m ready for whatever.
Other than that, nothing really happened. Yesterday it was pretty funny at church bc it was Mother’s Day and the members kept coming up to me and saying "felicidades!" which means congratulations and at first I was like "uhh... thanks?" and then it happened like 3 other times and I was like why?! I was soo confused, but I guess that’s what they say here to the mothers on Mother’s Day is felicidades. Weird right? But I couldn’t understand why they were doing it to me bc I’m not a mother! Well, not yet. But it’s become a joke between Hermana Frost and the other sisters that I’m going to be the first married when I get home between the 4 of us and the first with kids. So they were just laughing at me all yesterday. It was pretty funny :)
Pues [then]... that’s pretty much it for this week. I’ll be sending pics soon.
I love you all!!!

Week 51: Hay frió ;)
Yeah, this week felt soooooooooo amazing. It even got so cold at night that I got to take my blanket back out from my suite case and sleep with it!!! I’m telling y’all, a hammock is sooo comfy to sleep in (well after you are forced to sleep in it and get used to it. But once you do... there’s no going back haha) but when you sleep in a hammock WITH a blanket, there’s nothing better. Needless to say I slept pretty well this week.
And mom, remember in a Christmas package you sent me, you had sent me a long sleeved tan stripped shirt? Well, bc its sooo hot, I haven’t been able to wear it, but hey, bc it was actually windy and a little bit rainy on Thursday, I got to wear it just one more time, haha. Well, until November when it starts to get a little "cold" again.
This week, nothing really happened. As missionaries here we say "fue una semana chafa" with the numbers, I mean, it was a so-so week. But our success is that we found a new family. It was a reference of a member who told us that she barely remembers the Elders visiting them when they were here in this area. So we decided to go and after yelling (aka using a door bell) she came out and was like, come in! Come in! Like she didn’t even ask who we were or who we were looking for bc when we do a contact, usually the ppl are skeptical. Well, here in the city they are. It’s totally different in the city than it is in the pueblos, like Izamal. But anyways, we were like uhh... okay cool. So we went in and started to get to know her and her sons (they are older) and they are Baptists but had quit going to their church. Why, we still don’t know yet, but they are looking for direction in their lives and the parents, Auora and German are looking for help for their sons bc they are involved with bad influences. They are a great family and we are praying hard that they make it to church this next week.
Friday, we got to wind down the day and play sports with the members. We can play any other sport with them besides fútbol (soccer). And that’s okay with me bc I can’t play that to save my life. But we played volleyball with them for a while and it felt soooo good to just wind down and hang out. And this morning at 6:30 before our district mtg started, we played volleyball again and needless to say, my arms are sore, haha. I even have some bruises forming, which is really sad to say, haha
Other than that, things are going good here. Happy that the weather was cooler this week and hope that it stays like that for a bit. But I know that it has to get hot sooner or later. I mean we are already in May, so it’s kinda expected.
Oh, hey, I almost forgot!! We found a house finally!!! We are hopefully going to sign the contract this week. We just have to find a member to help us sign it bc whoever signs it has to own property here in Mérida. So we are hoping that next Monday we are getting ready to move out. And there’s a good possibility that we might have air conditioning in the new house. That just makes me soo happy!! haha.
Pics coming soon! Love you all sooo much!!!!
